Operation Santa12/15/2021 - MidPenn’s Lancaster office participated in Operation Santa for the 4th year in a row. This gift giving project is sponsored by the Lancaster Bar Association to make sure that the children living at the Transitional Living Center received gifts from Santa.

Don Smith Volunteer of the Year!9/22/21 - Berks County Attorney Donald F. Smith, Jr., received the 2021 Volunteer of the Year Award at MidPenn's Access to Justice event on September 22, 2021. The award was in recognition of the extraordinary work Attorney Smith has done in the area of housing law. The virtual celebration honored members of the legal profession who have made significant contributions toward achieving Equal Justice for all members of our community. The law firm of McNees, Wallace & Nurick were received the 2021 Law Firm Award for their outstanding pro bono commitment and support of MidPenn's mission. Kay Pickering from the Harrisburg Center for Peace and Justice was presented the Volunteer Award for her collaborative work with MidPenn advocates. The Honorable Judge Carolyn H. Nichols was the keynotes speaker.

Social Distancing Socializing6/26/2020 - MidPenn Director of Development, Eliz Nestorov, took on the role of game show host for a fun evening of trivia with MidPenn staff from across our 18 counties.

MidPenn OmbudsmanWith long-term care facilities closed to visitors, MidPenn Schuylkill County Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Eileen Barlow, has changed the scope of her work by assisting at the Pottsville Senior Resource Center delivering meals to home-bound seniors through the Meals on Wheels Program.
Meals are generally delivered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; however, due to the increase in social distancing, the delivery days have been reduced to Monday and Wednesday. On non-delivery days, Eileen assists with prepping and packing.
This particular route encompasses St. Clair Borough where 20-27 consumers are serviced. The daily totals continue to increase since the closure of the Senior Centers county-wide on March 16 and extension of social distancing.
