York, PA — MidPenn Legal Services will hold its sixth annual “Access to Justice” Awards on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Wyndham Garden in York. The event will recognize individuals and organizations whose service has strengthened the York County community and advanced equal access to justice.
William C. Gierasch, Jr., Esq., and Lawrence V. Young, Esq., will receive the Donald F. Smith, Jr., Pro Bono Award. The award honors volunteer attorneys who expand access to civil legal services for low-income individuals and families. The York County Bar Association/York County Bar Foundation will receive the Friends of Legal Services Award for advancing equal justice through public-interest projects, pro bono programs, community education, and other civic and legal efforts. Victoria A. Connor and Robert W. Pullo will receive the Community Justice Partner Award, which recognizes leaders who demonstrate that the pursuit of justice reaches beyond the courtroom. Alina M. Dusharm, Esq., Elizabeth Haley Rohrbaugh, Esq., and Suzanne S. Smith, Esq., have been named MidPenn’s York County Pro Bono Volunteers of the Year. They will be recognized for their enduring dedication to making civil legal assistance available to people who otherwise could not afford it.
